About The Position

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has multiple openings for Weapon System Engineers supporting cross-functional engineering activities for the Laboratory’s nuclear weapon stockpile operations mission. The role supports warhead component development and production, system and subsystem performance assessment, response to non-conformance conditions, and production agency qualification activities needed to meet program milestones and national deterrence requirements. Engineers work with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate component-, subassembly-, and system-level designs for assured safety, performance, and reliability. The positions are in the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED), within the Engineering Directorate, supporting Strategic Deterrence Programs. Depending on assignment, a hybrid schedule may be available, with work from home up to one day per week. The position may be filled at SES.2 or SES.3 based on knowledge and related experience; SES.3 includes additional leadership and technical responsibilities. This is a career-indefinite position open to Lab employees and external candidates.
