About The Position

This position is for a Weapon Control Analyst/Engineer within the Shipboard Systems Group, focusing on the Strategic Deterrence mission of the United States Navy and Air Force. The role involves designing immersive training systems for the Trident II D5 Weapon Control and Launcher systems, analyzing data to ensure peak performance, and serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a cross-disciplinary team. The candidate will support system analysis and virtual trainer development, with opportunities to broaden expertise to additional weapon systems.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience working directly with the Trident II D5 Fire Control System (enlisted, officer, or private contractor).
  • Active Secret security clearance and eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience as an instructor or weapons system evaluator for Trident II D5 SWS Launcher and Fire Control Systems.
  • Knowledge of ship systems that support the SWS, e.g., Ship Control.
  • Experience with additional weapon systems, including the Air Force Minuteman III or Sentinel systems, or with COLUMBIA or VIRGINIA-class submarines.

Responsibilities

  • Define system requirements and specifications for integrating Launcher and Fire Control operations of the Trident II D5 SWS into a virtual reality (VR) training simulator.
  • Conduct training sessions and usability testing with US Navy fleet participants, gathering and incorporating feedback to improve simulator performance and training capability.
  • Participate in a wide variety of test and evaluation efforts, including full scale system tests conducted at government owned test facilities or onboard Navy platforms.
  • Analyze data from deployed and future weapon systems to uncover areas of vulnerability or degradation, providing this information back to operators in the field.
  • Influence future weapon system designs to create robust, secure, resilient solutions.
