About The Position

The Wealth Management Associate Program is a salaried development program aimed at developing sales and entrepreneurial-minded individuals into a Wealth Advisory role. The program offers a strong foundation in financial planning, relationship building, and client discovery skills that are highly valued in Advisory careers. MD Financial Management is a national wealth management firm dedicated exclusively to supporting Canada’s physicians and their families. With more than 50 years of physician-focused experience, MD provides objective advice and comprehensive financial planning tailored to the unique needs of medical professionals, helping them manage, grow, and protect their wealth throughout every stage of their careers.

Requirements

  • Completing an undergraduate or master’s degree by January 2027, or a recent graduate with less than 5 years of experience and have developed a passion for helping others achieve their financial goals.
  • Excited about building a long-term career in Wealth Advisory
  • Naturally curious, thoughtful, and collaborative, and enjoy solving problems that matter to people.
  • Adaptable, open to feedback, and motivated to grow.
  • Remain positive and resilient when faced with challenges.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills; the ability to build and maintain strong collaborative client and internal/ external partner relationships.
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Entrepreneurial-minded and energized by helping clients navigate important life decisions in a sales advisory capacity.
  • Demonstrate an ability to influence, persuade, and build consensus
  • Keep current on issues affecting the financial affairs of clients, including a general knowledge of income tax, investment trends and products, as well as any other issues impacting clients.

  • Client meeting preparation
  • Drafting post meeting notes
  • Identifying next opportunities
  • Gathering and inputting financial data resulting from discovery conversations
  • Preparation of comprehensive financial plans
  • Preparation of specific investment strategies based on MD Management developed and managed optimal portfolio ranges
