About The Position

The primary role of the Wealth Advisor Associate is to support a team of financial advisors and the Branch Manager (BM) by ensuring the office is managed efficiently and effectively. The position is responsible for account opening, entering client trades, servicing client requests and processing trade instructions by phone, and ensuring client paperwork is up to date and accurate. This is a supportive team environment which promotes personal career growth. Drawing on previous experience as an Administrative Assistant in a financial services firm, or upon a degree/diploma within Financial Management or Business Administration, you must have meticulous attention to detail, possess a positive attitude, and have exceptional interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must also be responsible, confident, self-motivated, and a team player.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with a willingness and ability to learn new applications;
  • Verbal, written and interpersonal communication with both clients and colleagues;
  • Proficient in Quantitative analysis and adept in problem-solving;
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent attention to details;
  • The ability to prioritize, multitask, work within time constraints and follow-up.
  • Post-secondary education
  • A minimum of 3 years of industry related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the investment brokerage, financial services, banking, or accounting industry is an asset.
  • CIRO IR licensed is preferred.
  • Willingness to pursue the RR Licensing within 12 months of joining,
  • Willingness to pursue FINRA licencing within 18-24 months.

Responsibilities

  • Account openings – confirm with the client; following through with signatures and process with back office;
  • Process and follow up on security transactions and transfers;
  • Ensure all clients’ accounts are up-to-date;
  • Foster and support client relationships by liaising with clients, responding to requests and proactive problem solving;
  • Service clients’ general day-to-day requests;
  • Review client trades with utmost accuracy and ensuring timely settlement;
  • Liaise with corporate back office to complete client inquires and requests;
  • Prepare and review daily/monthly/annual reports, client correspondence and taking ownership of project work;
  • Assist with tax packages
  • Maintain the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
