WDI Ride Control Engineering Intern, Orlando, Spring 2027
About The Position
Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is seeking a Ride Control Engineering Intern for the Spring 2027 internship in Orlando, FL. This internship offers the opportunity to work within the Ride Engineering Studio, contributing to the design and development of advanced control systems for Disney's theme park attractions. Interns will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, gaining hands-on experience in ride control system development, prototyping, simulation, and testing. The role involves designing, modeling, and analyzing electrical, electronic, and data communication systems, working under the guidance of a mentor on a specific attraction or development project.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a Junior attending an accredited college/university earning a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related.
- Ability to understand and implement basic control system design.
- Experience with programmable controllers used in machine control and robotic applications.
- Ability to conduct electrical/electronic design and calculations.
- Ability to prepare technical documents and CAD drawings.
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization.
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work.
- Must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
Nice To Haves
- Leadership experience in an engineering organization, or other organized group.
- Membership or leadership in IEEE, SWE, ACM, or equivalent professional organization.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MATLAB.
- Control Systems Engineering and/or Control Theory coursework.
- Control Systems Engineering and/or Control Theory experience.
Responsibilities
