About The Position
Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is seeking a Ride Control Engineering Intern for Spring 2027 in Glendale, CA. This internship offers the opportunity to work on the cutting edge of ride control systems, contributing to the design, development, and testing of attractions that provide magical and immersive experiences for Disney guests worldwide. Interns will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, working alongside experienced engineers and mentors to bring initial ideas to life.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a Junior attending an accredited college/university earning a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related
- Ability to understand and implement basic control system design
- Experience with programmable controllers used in machine control and robotic applications
- Ability to conduct electrical/electronic design and calculations
- Ability to prepare technical documents and CAD drawings
- Valid US driver's license
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work
- Must be fully available for the duration of the internship
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship in Glendale, CA
Nice To Haves
- Leadership experience in an engineering organization, or other organized group
- Membership or leadership in IEEE, SWE, ACM, or equivalent professional organization
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Matlab
- Control Systems Engineering and/or Control Theory experience
- Control Systems Engineering and/or Control Theory coursework
Responsibilities
- Be part of an engineering team involved in ride control system development, prototyping, simulation, or testing for a specific attraction or development project
- Design, model, and/or analyze electrical, electronic, and data communication systems
- Join a project or development team, partnered with a leader who will be your mentor
