The WBL/Apprenticeship Coordinator directly supervises work-based learning students, determining their qualifications for placement, conducting placement activities, and placement follow-up. This role involves coordinating business community placement linkages and the school-to-work program, ensuring compliance with government and management directives. The coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating placement and work-based learning activities, evaluating staff performance, providing staff training, establishing staff work assignments, and recommending functional and personnel changes to the center director. Additional responsibilities include developing and monitoring departmental budgets, controlling expenditures, assisting in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures, and regularly auditing assigned areas for contractual compliance and service effectiveness. The role also requires maintaining program linkages with national, state, and local agencies, identifying potential placements for terminating students, preparing trainees' resumes and placement documents, and compiling placement reports. The coordinator will coordinate communication with other departments regarding student placement, arrange on and off-center work-based learning assignments, supervise the leisure time employment program, participate in industry advisory councils, and coordinate graduation ceremonies. Furthermore, the position involves conducting formal interviews with students, processing readjustment funds, auditing OMS reports, implementing safety awards programs, participating in student employability programs, enforcing the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy, and promoting Career Success Standards.
