About The Position

This is a working Lead role where you will both produce wax molds and provide exceptional leadership to your team. The role involves championing safety and 6S initiatives, holding the team accountable for policies, prioritizing workflow, and demonstrating excellent communication skills. You will answer questions regarding part processing, verify daily staffing, and report any issues to the Supervisor. Responsibilities include assigning work, assessing training needs, moving operators to different qualified assignments, and stopping work if appropriate in the absence of a supervisor. You will also audit the quality and quantity of work, provide performance input to Supervisors, and assume responsibility for routine operations in a Supervisor’s absence. The role requires establishing and tracking T-put plans for MS 1 Wax Molding, operating wax press machinery safely and efficiently, performing cleaning and handling of tooling, and reading/following setup instructions. You will also perform general cleaning, inspect wax patterns for quality, document paperwork, identify and document tooling damage, process paperwork, move tools, set up and inspect tooling, receive and inspect raw materials, perform leach tank operations, and perform monthly maintenance. Writing work instructions and adhering to safety rules are also key aspects of this role.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as Wax Molder required
  • Ability to read work instructions and complete basic documentation
  • Lift and move up to 35 lbs.
  • Stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Read instructions and write
  • Use handheld tools to assemble and disassemble molding tools
  • Use overhead cranes, pallet jacks and various lifting devices

Responsibilities

  • Champion Safety and 6S Initiatives

  • Perform proper cleaning, handling and storage of wax molding tooling
  • Read and follow wax molding set up techniques and instructions associated with each tool
  • Perform general cleaning of the molding area and equipment
  • Inspect wax patterns for acceptable quality criteria
  • Appropriately document all daily paperwork and forms associated with the molding operation
  • Identify and document tooling damage and operational issues
  • Process paperwork and physically move tools in and out of the department as required
  • Set up and inspect new and reworked tooling
  • Receive and inspect raw materials
  • Perform leach tank operations as needed in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform monthly maintenance duties
  • Write work instructions for the molding operation
  • Adhere to plant and department safety rules and regulations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management
