About The Position

This is a working Lead role where you will both assemble wax patterns and provide exceptional leadership to your team. The role involves championing safety and 6S initiatives, holding the team accountable for policies, prioritizing workflow, and ensuring key parts move for TP plan or LTPO recovery. You will answer questions regarding part processing, verify daily staffing, and report any staffing issues to the Supervisor. Responsibilities include assessing training needs, coordinating training, moving operators to qualified assignments, and stopping work if appropriate in the absence of a supervisor. You will also audit the quality and quantity of work performed by operators and provide input to Supervisors regarding operator performance. The role requires assuming responsibility for routine operations in a Supervisor’s absence and establishing/tracking T-put plans for MS 1 Wax Assembly. Daily tasks include cleaning, trimming, shaping, and preparing wax patterns, assembling precision components, performing visual inspections, handling small parts, and maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards. Workstations must be kept organized and clean. Collaboration with team members, support for engineering changes, and assisting with training new employees are also key aspects. You will work from drawings, photographs, work instructions, and production documentation, following all safety procedures and using required equipment and PPE. Identifying and reporting safety concerns and opportunities for continuous improvement, supporting production goals, and contributing to on-time delivery are expected. Other manufacturing and production-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Willingness to learn manufacturing processes and safety requirements
  • Good hand-eye coordination and comfort working with small, intricate parts
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools
  • Patience, focus, and consistency when performing repetitive precision work
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to identify very small defects (as small as .010")
  • Ability to measure accurately within 1/16"
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as Wax Assembler required
  • Ability to read work instructions and complete basic documentation
  • Lift and move up to 35 lbs.
  • Stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Use hand tools and assembly equipment comfortably
  • Perform repetitive hand movements and detailed assembly tasks
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures

  • Accurately handle small parts and components in a production environment
  • Maintain quality, productivity, and safety standards throughout the manufacturing process
  • Keep workstations organized, clean, and production-ready
  • Collaborate with team members to review assemblies and maintain product quality
  • Support engineering and process changes as new products and improvements are introduced
  • Assist with training and mentoring new employees as skills develop
  • Work from drawings, photographs, work instructions, and production documentation
  • Follow all safety procedures and properly use required equipment and PPE
  • Identify and report safety concerns and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Support production goals and contribute to on-time delivery performance
  • Perform other manufacturing and production-related duties as assigned
