About The Position

The Wax Assembler/Dresser is responsible for performing all operations and operating equipment efficiently in assembling and dressing wax patterns. This includes working with all blades, top/bottom gating, no tip gate, and shroud hangers. The role requires adherence to engineering procedures, inspection of components, and ensuring parts meet quality standards. The position also involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, following safety rules, and meeting daily team goals. Overtime, including daily and weekend work, may be required.

Requirements

  • High school education.
  • Three months OJT training.
  • Normal initiative and ingenuity.
  • Normal effort required.
  • Ability to lift/move from 2-30 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all operations and operate equipment efficiently in assembling/dressing wax patterns.
  • Assemble patterns per Engineering procedures.
  • Inspect components before and after assembly for casting defect contributors.
  • Visually check for broken corners, lugs, and missing pins.
  • Wax dipseal mold after assembly per procedure as needed.
  • Perform visual inspection of all wax patterns and clusters after each operation.
  • Determine the acceptability of patterns to specifications and return acceptable and unacceptable patterns to the appropriate stations or operators.
  • Properly identify work performed on patterns or clusters with a personal identification number.
  • Type and organize labels for the lot control system.
  • Meet the specific requirements of individual or daily team goals.
  • Follow safety rules, including wearing safety glasses in all areas.
  • Keep the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe working condition.
  • Responsible for self and ensuring parts meet quality standards.
  • Willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.
