Under the supervision of the Production Area Lead, the Wax Finisher position is accountable for the final finishing of wax and wax/plastic patterns. This involves removing flash, repairing defects, and smoothing blends. The role also includes repairing defects in pattern assemblies using wax as filling material without altering the pattern's contour or shape, dressing pour cups, attaching finished patterns to trees, and attaching pour cups to pattern gating. If performing gating work, assembly of plastic or wax cross arms and vent plugs must be completed. The position requires reporting finished pieces into the computer inventory system via data entry, preparation of cores (if working on IGT patterns), and blue sealing if working on plastic/wax patterns. While not exposed to hazardous materials, this position requires wearing PPE and following basic safety precautions. It involves light to moderate physical activity, including walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods, as well as some lifting.
