About The Position
The Wave Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a wave solder machine to solder products within the process. The operator adjusts machine speed, temperature, and other settings to accommodate different product types and sizes. The role also involves troubleshooting, running products, performing preventative and daily/weekly maintenance, identifying defects, and entering data into the shop floor control system. The operator may also clean dross from the solder pot.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate a wave solder machine.
- Operate the finger cleaner pump, conveyor, and IR pre-heaters.
- Troubleshoot problem areas.
- Run product through the process.
- Perform preventative and daily/weekly maintenance.
- Operate machine functions including the fluxer, hot air knife, conveyor, and pre-heaters.
- Identify defects and enter data into the shop floor control system.
- Clean dross from the solder pot as needed.
