About The Position

HDR Engineering is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join its growing NTX/OK/AR team within the Water Business Group. The role involves planning, directing, and monitoring technical aspects of complex pump station, pipeline, drinking water, and wastewater design projects. The engineer may serve as a technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects and may coordinate staffing and workload, supervise a small staff, and support client relationships. The position contributes to water infrastructure that supports public health, environmental sustainability, and community resilience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field.
• Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered, such as a PE or P.Eng license.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and with a project team through task completion.
• Commitment to active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Nice To Haves

• Master of Science degree.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex engineering assignments, using judgment to evaluate, select, and modify standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed.
• Participate in client relationships.
• Serve as a technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects as needed.
• Coordinate staff assignments and workload throughout project development to complete documents on schedule, as needed.
• Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians, as needed.
• Implement QA/QC procedures and execute established personnel training.
• Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Perform other duties as needed.
