About The Position

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a career-minded Water/Wastewater engineer to join their fast-growing Water/Wastewater consultant engineering practice. This role involves planning and assisting with engineering designs in the water/wastewater field, utilizing knowledge of design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards, and processes. The engineer will manage multiple design projects concurrently, developing and documenting critical design elements. The selected candidate will be part of an established team working on sewershed study and rehabilitation, new sewer design, water distribution, water/wastewater treatment, and pump station projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. The position requires providing quality engineering evaluation and design services efficiently with adequate supervision to support project objectives and ensure customer satisfaction, delivering high-quality projects on schedule and within budget. Immigration sponsorship is not available, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Requirements

Working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards and processes
Ability to conduct multiple design projects simultaneously
Ability to develop, analyze and document critical design elements
Ability to provide quality engineering evaluation and design services efficiently with adequate supervision
Ability to deliver projects of high quality on schedule and within budget

Responsibilities

Assist with alternative studies
Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to complete a task
Perform design computations
Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
Assist with developing the project quantities for construction cost estimate
Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
Perform other related duties as assigned
