About The Position

TechSales NE, a Ferguson Company is now seeking a Water & Wastewater Aftermarket & Plant Solutions Specialist (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Sales Representative) in our Waterworks Process Solutions Division to fill an immediate need with growing market opportunities for water & wastewater process equipment. If you are self-motivated, dedicated, and can provide phenomenal customer service coupled with a passion for contributing directly to the bottom line of a multi-billion-dollar organization, this is the position for you! This is a sales role supporting our customers and principal manufacturers in New England. A fuel card, auto allowance, travel and expense card, company cell phone & laptop will be provided. Once established, this position is remote within territory and requires 50% travel within territory plus other travel as required. (e.g. factory visits to principal manufacturers, industry events). Initial training period will require regular weekly time in our Nashua, NH office location. Length of this training period will vary based on individual experience, qualifications, and ramp up time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of water and wastewater industry related experience, with 5+ years of technical sales experience, project management experience is a plus.
  • Strong technical background and experience in water and wastewater.
  • General digital literacy
  • Self-Motivator, ability to multi-task and learn quickly

Nice To Haves

  • Wastewater licenses/or drinking water licenses are preferred.
  • A successful associate will be results oriented, self-motivated, able to complete tasks in a timely manner, build relationships and enjoy a team environment
  • BS/AS degree, technical training, industry certifications, or equivalent industry experience preferred
  • Experience with pumps, pumping systems, and related mechanical equipment preferred.
  • Previous relationships and experience with our principal manufacturers is a plus.
  • Committee and board member roles with industry associations is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Problem solving, leadership and listening skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with principal manufacturers, engineers, contractors, and end-users within the defined territory, while working with other associates to ensure customer satisfaction with our products and services, from project inception to installation, and beyond.
  • Perform various duties including problem analysis, product application assessment, product selection, assisting in design/application development, specification recommendations, estimating and scope development, bidding to plant/end-user customers, startup and commissioning overview
  • Analyze competition in territory, devise sales strategy, assist in annual business planning, and communicate sales strategy to management.
  • Advanced strategizing the opportunities to optimize buy-resale when it’s both appropriate for our customer and principal manufacturer, AND the risk and reward.
  • Sales Territory are the six New England States- CT, RI, MA, NH, VT, ME
  • Continually improve sales skills and product knowledge to promote a professional image in the field and develop the same in your direct reports.
  • Foster and form strategic partnerships with Engineers, Owners, Contractors, and other key stakeholders to improve market positioning.
  • Identify future capital improvement and engineered sales opportunities and clearly communicate to appropriate departments/personnel for follow up and development.
  • Represent Ferguson Process Solutions at industry events and organizations.
  • Drive a sales culture to intentionally seek opportunities to present other Ferguson offerings (ex: Geo Storm, PVF, Fire Fab, etc.) within the primary solution of Process Solutions.
  • Travel with principal manufacturer partners to identify opportunities and provide technical solutions.
  • Capable of building strong relationships with plant operators, maintenance personnel, and utility leadership.
