Plumber Apprentice
About The Position
This is a Water Treatment Service Technician position, not a traditional plumbing apprenticeship. The role does not involve working under a licensed plumber or earning plumbing apprenticeship hours. New hires complete a seven-week hands-on training program combining classroom learning, shop time, and field training. The training prepares technicians to install water softeners, filtration systems, and other water treatment equipment in customers’ homes, with a career path for continued growth and advancement. Technicians work daily in customers’ homes and businesses to install, diagnose, repair, and service water treatment equipment. They educate customers on system use and care, document service work, collaborate with Sales and Customer Service, and safely operate a company vehicle. Work involves using power tools, hand tools, pipe fittings, and other equipment. U.S. Water Culligan Group is a Culligan franchisee serving families and businesses across 13 locations. Requirements
- Enjoy working with their hands, problem-solving, and working with customers.
- Be naturally handy or mechanically inclined.
- Be comfortable working physically and in tight spaces.
- Be able to lift 80 pounds.
- Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Nice To Haves
- Plumbing or mechanical experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Install new water treatment systems.
- Analyze and diagnose customer water quality issues.
- Repair water conditioning, drinking water, and related equipment.
- Educate customers on system use and care.
- Manage service documentation.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Service to ensure exceptional service.
- Safely operate a company vehicle.
- Use power tools, hand tools, pipe fittings, and other equipment to install and service water treatment systems.
- Use plumbing training to support daily work.
