About The Position

We are committed to excellence in water treatment and seek a skilled Water Treatment Operator to join our team. Our ideal candidate is experienced in bag filters, chemical flocculation, mechanical dewatering and is passionate about ensuring the highest water quality standards. As a Water Treatment Operator, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of water treatment systems, with a specific focus on shakers, hydrocyclones, pumps, centrifuges, bag filters and chemical flocculation processes. You will monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot various treatment processes to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Experience as a slurry or separations plant operator, with specific experience maintaining the equipment and efficiency of a separations plant system.
  • Experience as a Water Treatment Operator or similar role, with specific experience in bag filters and chemical flocculation.
  • Familiarity with water treatment regulations and best practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in water treatment is a plus.
  • Strong technical skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in water quality testing and analysis.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain shakers, hydrocyclones, centrifuge, and pumps.
  • Operate and maintain bag filters, including periodic change outs.
  • Monitor and adjust chemical flocculation processes, ensuring proper dosage and mixing.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on water treatment equipment.
  • Conduct regular water quality tests, including turbidity, pH, and chemical concentrations.
  • Analyze test results and make necessary adjustments to treatment processes.
  • Identify and resolve issues with mechanical dewatering equipment, bag filters and chemical flocculation systems.
  • Perform corrective actions and repairs as needed to maintain system efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to water quality regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and water quality tests.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor.
