Water Treatment Chemical Technician at a Data Center
About The Position
Garratt-Callahan is hiring a Water Treatment Chemical Technician to work at a customer’s data center in the Stillwater/Tulsa, Oklahoma area. The technician will address customer water-treatment concerns, perform laboratory work and detailed water testing, commission new piping and system assets, and troubleshoot water-treatment and control equipment. The role also involves treating industrial cooling towers to support energy efficiency and environmental performance, helping deliver customer KPIs, and promoting the company’s chemical blends, equipment, and monitoring technology. The position requires a four-year technical degree in the sciences. The company offers technical support, training, a career path, and first-year base compensation of $55,000–$70,000 depending on experience, plus a year-end bonus. The technician reports directly to the Site Manager and must live in or near Stillwater/Tulsa and be familiar with the area’s industrial marketplace.
Requirements
- A four-year technical degree in the sciences; examples include Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Mechanical Engineering, Paper Science, or Water Resources.
- Experience with advanced water-treatment technologies or an interest in learning them.
- Detail-oriented and able to adhere to safety protocols.
- Able to lift 50 pounds while wearing PPE in all weather conditions.
- Must live in or near Stillwater/Tulsa, Oklahoma, and be familiar with the area’s industrial marketplace.
Nice To Haves
- One year of technical sales experience or an internship related to water-treatment chemicals.
- Outside industrial sales experience.
- Familiarity with industrial cooling towers.
- Knowledge and proficiency with laboratory procedures, water equipment, and water chemistry.
- Ability to provide virtual presentations to groups.
- Experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
Responsibilities
- Solve customers’ water-treatment problems and concerns.
- Treat industrial cooling towers to help keep them energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
- Perform detailed water testing, analyses, and laboratory work at a data center.
- Help deliver customer KPIs and promote Garratt-Callahan solutions, including proprietary chemical blends, equipment, and monitoring technology.
- Commission newly installed assets, piping, systems, and control equipment.
- Troubleshoot water-treatment and control equipment.
- Maintain existing customer relationships and help keep customers happy and safe.
