About The Position

We are seeking a Water Treatment Chemical Service Technician for our Memphis, Tennessee operations. This role is responsible for sales support by maintaining the existing customer base, primarily in Western Tennessee and Northern Mississippi. You will perform water treatment tests at existing customer sites. This position offers the freedom of working from home and the opportunity to train in a territory alongside veteran Territory Managers. The ideal candidate will live in or very near Memphis or Jackson, TN. The career track for a Chemical Service Technician is to train to become a Territory Manager, who is eligible for unlimited commission and a year-end bonus. As a Technical Sales Support/Service Technician, you will receive a competitive salary, expenses, benefits, and a car allowance. Ample technical support and continuous training are provided, with minimal paperwork. Compensation is based on experience and ability to succeed, with a first-year salary range of $65,000 to $85,000 for a qualified candidate. We prioritize committed employees for both compensation and growth opportunities.

Requirements

You must have a 4-year science degree to qualify for this position.
You must be a capable Chemist.
You must live in Memphis or nearby in Western Tennessee and be familiar with the industrial marketplace of the area.
Garratt-Callahan does not sponsor work visas.

Nice To Haves

Technical degree such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Mechanical Engineering, Paper Science, or Water Resources.
One-year technical sales, or an internship related to water treatment chemicals is preferred, but we are willing to train and mentor.
Outside industrial sales experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Solve customers' water problems.
Treat industrial boilers and cooling towers to keep energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
Perform detailed water testing & analyses at Industrial sites, Manufacturers, Data Centers, Medical Centers, and Commercial Buildings.
Help sell Garratt-Callahan's proprietary chemical blends, equipment, & monitoring technology.
Passivation of stainless steel in industrial water treatment systems.
Help sell corrosion & scale inhibitors, coagulants, flocculants, biocides, bio-augmentation, feed & monitoring equipment, water management plans, reverse osmosis products.
Help sell Water Safety Programs.
Keep our existing customers happy.
Help bring on new industrial customers.
