About The Position
Provide swimming instruction to the community in a safe and controlled environment.
Requirements
- Effective swimming instruction techniques and methodologies.
- Basic water safety and emergency procedures.
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and staff.
- Demonstrate and perform all American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim skills.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the varying needs of students.
- Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate or American Red Cross Basic Swim Instructor Certificate.
- Must be 18 years of age or have work permit.
- Subject to background investigation.
Responsibilities
- Develops and prepares lesson plans tailored to the skill levels and needs of participants.
- Sets up and organizes equipment necessary for the facilitation of lessons.
- Delivers effective swimming instruction to students of various ages and skill levels.
- Monitors and maintains the safety of all participants throughout lessons.
- Conducts evaluations and provide feedback to students and parents regarding progress.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned, which may include assisting with special events, maintaining records, and participating in in-service training.
- Performs related work as required.
