As an experienced Water Resources Engineer with an interest in mine water management, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting, multi-faceted, high-profile projects in Alberta, across Canada, and internationally. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar consulting environment
  • Work experience on water resources engineering and multi-disciplinary projects
  • Strong initiative, innovation, commitment to technical excellence and continuous learning, enthusiasm, and drive toward long-term success
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in contributing to proposals, technical reports, presentations to client representatives, providing clear direction to project team members and sub-consultants, and general project correspondence
  • Exceptional team spirit, interpersonal skills and ability to build long-term, successful relationships with our client representatives and project teams
  • Solid time management and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Build upon your technical skills on a variety of mine water management projects that may involve: surface water hydrology; hydraulic modelling; ditch and culvert design; erosion protection design; sedimentation ponds and sumps; tailings water management; closure design of dumps and tailings facilities; dams and hydraulic structures; and dam safety related assignments.
  • Be the project coordinator on challenging projects that can involve civil, geotechnical, hydrogeological, environmental, and regulatory disciplines. This opportunity will enable you to expand your technical tool box, project management capabilities, and client liaison and business acumen skills.
  • Be involved in all stages of a project, from concept to completion, including: undertaking the design; preparing design reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Mentor and oversee junior engineers, actively supporting their career development.
  • Broaden your professional practice by working on multi-disciplinary engineering projects while maintaining your focus on water resource engineering.
  • Work throughout western Canada with potential opportunities to travel internationally.
