Role description: Arcadis is seeking an entry-level Water Management Engineer to join our Water Management Team and Water Midwest team in Milwaukee, WI. As Water Management Engineer you will play a key role in delivering engineering and consulting services for a variety of projects, including those focused on shoreline stability, flood risk reduction, and waterfront infrastructure resilience. Our ideal candidate will have geotechnical experience in slope stability, seepage and foundation analyses. With this role as an entry-level Water Management Engineer, you will work on projects both small and large, and as a team member under the close guidance and supervision of a senior engineer. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills to fluently communicate to clients and present technical information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing master's degree in civil engineering.
  • 1 year of prior geotechnical internship or work experience.
  • Proficiency in using programs such as gINT, SEEPW, SLOPEW, CWALSHT, PYWall, LPILE, and GROUP is also a plus.
  • Experience in geotechnical analyses for dams, levees, cofferdams, and foundations for various hydraulic structures. This includes, but is not limited to seepage, static and seismic stability analysis, liquefaction analysis, deformation analysis, and foundation and settlement analysis.
  • Ability to obtain EIT

Responsibilities

  • Geotechnical analyses for levees, dams, floodwalls, and other hydraulic structures, including but not limited to seepage, slope stability and settlement analysis, and preparing technical reports.
  • Preparation of geotechnical recommendations that aid in the development of designs, drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Work with our multi-disciplinary Water Management team that includes Civil, Structural, and Geotechnical Engineers to deliver innovative designs for our clients
  • Data evaluation of instrumentation systems at levees, spillways, outlet works, and slopes.
  • Assists in planning and coordinating geotechnical field investigations
  • Reviews boring logs and laboratory data
  • design and analysis of heavy civil and earthen structures integral to water management projects.
  • prepare comprehensive design and bid packages to support permitting and construction phases
  • coordinating and overseeing construction administration and inspection services to ensure project compliance and quality.
  • occasional travel to project sites for site visits, client meetings, safety audits, and construction oversight activities.

  • The salary range for this position is $49,390- $79,023.
