About The Position

Leads, plans, organizes, coordinates, and monitors all activities related to the maintenance of electrical power distribution systems, motors, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), electronic controls and instrumentation, data collection systems, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment. The position oversees comprehensive mechanical and pump maintenance programs, including the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, lubrication, and preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, gearboxes, blowers, and related process equipment essential to water treatment and distribution operations. Ensures equipment reliability, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safe maintenance practices across all Water Resources facilities. Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $114,774.40/annually.

Requirements

  • An Associate's Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Five years of experience in managing, maintaining and repairing electrical or electronic equipment Medium voltage (1-35 kV) and Low Voltage (600 V and below) and installing, maintaining, calibrating and repairing motors, pumps and pressure reducing valves for a water and/or wastewater system.
  • Must have three years of Supervisory experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
  • Must possess, at time of application, and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 36 months prior to the start date.
  • Must possess upon hire or promotion, and maintain a Grade 4 certification from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality in either Water Treatment or Water Distribution.
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
