About The Position

ServiceMaster Cleaning & Restoration in Cartersville, GA is seeking a Part-Time Water, Fire and Mold Technician. This role is ideal for individuals with construction knowledge and experience looking to learn a new career in restoration and specialized cleaning. Successful apprentices will be eligible for company-paid training and certification under IICRC guidelines, a company truck, increased responsibilities, and higher pay after 6 months with a proven track record. The company performs emergency cleanup after fire and water losses, mold remediation, carpet cleaning, and bio-hazard cleanup. A certified water technician must be able to calculate drying equipment needs and utilize company software to document drying progress. This job requires hard work but is rewarding and enjoyable for those who like varied locations and working both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of using basic hand tools.
  • Knowledge of best practices in the construction industry.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Physically able to lift objects weighing 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
  • Willingness to work long hours at times, occasional evenings and weekends, and some overtime.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Team player, but able to work alone when necessary.
  • Ability to problem solve and learn new aspects of the job.
  • Self-motivated and clean cut.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Certified Water Technicians in performing restoration and specialized cleaning.
  • Perform emergency cleanup after fire and water losses.
  • Remediate mold.
  • Perform carpet cleaning.

  • Use company's Drying Workbook software to track work performed and document drying progress.
  • Work in different locations each day.
  • Work alone as well as with team members to accomplish goals.
