About The Position

The Water Engineering Intern supports engineers and project managers in planning and designing water, wastewater, and water-resources systems. The intern contributes to projects from concept through construction, working under the direct supervision of a professional engineer or project manager and alongside multidisciplinary teams. The role offers practical experience with water infrastructure projects and exposure to technical experts, project managers, and modern digital tools, including AI-enabled solutions, BIM platforms, modeling software, and other engineering applications. The intern may also help prepare project documents, analyze and visualize data, and support schedule and budget management.

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of two years toward a degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Coursework in hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management and design, water and wastewater treatment processes, water distribution and wastewater collection systems, or other water, wastewater, or water-resources topics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to the field of study or industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform assignments on engineering-related projects under the direct supervision of a professional engineer or project manager.
• Evaluate and design water, wastewater, and water-resources infrastructure.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and environmental staff.
• Prepare reports and technical documents.
• Assist senior staff in maintaining project schedules and budgets.
• Build data analysis and visualization solutions.
• Use design and production tools, including BIM platforms, modeling software, and other engineering applications.
• Perform other duties as needed.
