About The Position

We are currently seeking a hands-on, safety-minded Wastewater Treatment Plant Technician to run day-to-day operations of the on-site WWTP at an industrial manufacturing facility. Requirements

  • Mechanically inclined with solid technical troubleshooting instincts around pumps, valves, and control systems
  • Comfortable working from a control panel or computer interface to monitor and adjust equipment
  • Basic math skills to accurately read and interpret levels, temperatures, and gauges
  • Must hold a current telehandler (lull) specific powered industrial truck certification, or be able to obtain one
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently with minimal direct supervision

Responsibilities

  • Operate the centrifuge (decanter) system, including start-up, shutdown, and basic valve adjustments
  • Monitor centrifuge performance and discharge quality throughout operation
  • Apply technical troubleshooting skills to keep the decanter running reliably and catch issues early
  • Monitor sludge basin and tank levels throughout the shift
  • Operate sludge pumps as needed to transfer material
  • Collect waste/sludge samples for testing and recordkeeping
  • Manage solids disposal, including dumping solids and monitoring dumpster levels
  • Operate a small telehandler (lull) to move product out of the warehouse, typically weekly
  • Monitor polymer mixing operations and line condition
  • Monitor polymer drum levels and replace drums as needed
  • Monitor bleach tote levels and replace totes when required
  • Identify and respond quickly to abnormal conditions, such as a polymer overflow
  • Clean polymer spills and complete routine walk-throughs across the WWTP
  • Maintain general housekeeping standards throughout the plant
  • Perform light maintenance such as greasing bearings and general area upkeep
  • Complete daily inspection sheets and maintain accurate operational records
  • Maintain daily communication with facility staff regarding equipment status and issues
  • Report abnormal conditions, equipment failures, or safety concerns immediately
  • Follow all facility safety rules, PPE requirements, and permit-to-work procedures
