The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations Supervisor reports to the Wastewater Treatment Superintendent. The primary functions of this position include: Leading daily staffing and scheduling to keep the treatment facility fully covered, Supervising and coaching operational staff, including performance evaluations, training, and hiring, Monitoring mechanical systems and treatment processes to ensure regulatory compliance and effluent quality, Overseeing capital and long-range wastewater infrastructure projects, including design and cost review, Representing the department in interagency meetings and serving as a liaison with regulatory agencies and the public. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of specialized or technical training beyond high school
  • Associate degree or technical certificate in environmental science, wastewater operations, or a related field
  • Five years of experience in wastewater treatment processes, including mechanical, chemical, and biological systems
  • Two years of supervisory or lead experience
  • ADEQ Grade IV Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification at time of hire (or equivalent certification transferable to Arizona within 3 months)
  • Arizona Class D Driver License required
  • This position requires a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
  • This position has been designated as a Medium work position that spends a majority of their workday in a field/hazardous environment.

Responsibilities
