Veolia Water Technologies, Inc. is hiring an entry-level Wastewater Technician to work at local facilities and travel to other locations to learn different wastewater treatment processes. The role involves learning to operate and control treatment plants, machinery, and equipment used to clarify and purify water and wastewater for permitted industrial uses. Once trained, the technician will help cover shift vacancies and support projects. This is intended to be a one-year training position preparing the employee for a longer-term role, such as Wastewater Technician 1, Water Technician 1, or Regional Training & Operations Technician. To complete the program, the employee must obtain a state or ABC water/wastewater license. The position includes mentoring, technical and commercial training, and participation in Veolia’s electronic Operator In Training program. The employee must be able to work different shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, and shifts lasting 8 to 12 hours. The primary shift designation is 12-hour night shifts. Travel to locations outside the originally applied area is required and may involve being away from home for one to two weeks; travel could reach 50% while learning new treatment processes and systems.
