Entry/Mid-Level Wastewater Operator
About The Position
The Wastewater Operator ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment, and other wastewater treatment equipment remain operational. The role maintains and operates a hazardous waste disposal injection well and assigned equipment; monitors and records system readings and inspections; collects and processes stormwater samples as needed; and maintains operational, waste, maintenance, and repair records. The position also includes grounds maintenance around the facility and associated systems, as well as handling, recovery, disposal, and recycling of hazardous waste.

- Ability to prioritize, stay focused, and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record may be required for some positions.
- Wastewater Treatment Operator certification may be required for some positions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate the hazardous waste disposal injection well and assigned equipment.
- Ensure pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment, and other wastewater treatment equipment are operational.
- Promptly report equipment malfunctions.
- Record daily system readings and inspect pump leachate.
- Trim weeds and cut grass around the facility and associated systems.
- Collect and process stormwater samples as needed.
- Enter data into Excel spreadsheets and maintain system records.
- Maintain records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Receive, handle, recover, dispose of, and recycle hazardous waste.
- Maintain logs and records of waste received and shipped off-site.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
