About The Position

Kleinfelder is hiring a Wastewater System Operator in the Elm Creek, Nebraska area. Technical Operators help ensure the operational efficiency and safety of multiple water supply and wastewater plants maintained daily. This is a flex position offering 6–10 hours weekly, with approximately 75% field work and 25% office time. The position has multiple levels based on experience and state certifications.

Must live in Elm Creek, Nebraska, or within 50 miles.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must possess a Class I or higher Wastewater License.
Following an offer, candidates must satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report, and a comprehensive background check.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain pumps, motors, and blowers.
Complete work orders and follow up on them, and perform process control monitoring.
Monitor and record flow meters and system run hours.
Service and maintain equipment and the overall plant.
Clean sand filters and media filters.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot electrical controls with proper training and equipment.
Collect samples for analysis and maintain chain of custodies.
Record plant operation details on computer and in writing, and prepare reports.
Monitor treatment processes and apply standard operational adjustments based on results.
