About The Position

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems, including collection, pre-treatment, and full treatment. The role involves performing chemical analyses, making system adjustments to ensure regulatory compliance, and completing detailed reports. The operator will also be responsible for equipment maintenance and potentially operating a spotter truck or forklift. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday-Friday with potential weekend work, and requires flexibility to cover other shifts as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 plus years Maintenance/Wastewater/Lab Setting experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical
  • Must successfully complete a storm water training program selected by site management within thirty days
  • Must successfully complete and obtain lowest grade certification program within twelve months or in accordance with State regulations
  • Must obtain the second highest grade certification through the state certification program or other entity within twenty-four months of completion of initial requirements or in accordance with State regulations
  • Physically lifting of heavy objects 30 pounds
  • Climbing and or descending stairs or ladders
  • Grounds keeping

  • Working in unsanitary conditions
  • Working with hazardous chemicals

Responsibilities

  • Operation of wastewater analysis laboratory
  • Operation and maintenance of wastewater collection system
  • Operation and maintenance of wastewater pre-treatment system
  • Operation and maintenance of wastewater full treatment system or operation and maintenance of any other type of water or wastewater treatment system
  • Collecting samples for analysis in accordance with EPA state and or health departments regulations
  • Performing a variety of chemical analysis both in and out of a laboratory setting
  • Making system adjustments based on interpretation of results from chemical analysis
  • Making educated decisions on maintaining regulatory compliance
  • Performing mathematical calculations utilizing basic algebraic formulas and a calculator
  • Completing computerized reports
  • Compiling information and correctly completing monthly reports as required by permits state authority EPA or corporate management
  • Utilization of basic organizational skills basic mechanical skills basic electrical wiring skills
  • Proper communication of current operational status to upper management
  • Maintaining operations logs
  • Performing minor to major maintenance on equipment
  • Operation of a spotter tuck and or a forklift
