Requirements
- A minimum of a Secondary School Diploma and Operator in Training (OIT) certification/license.
- Possess and maintain Ministry of Environment (MECP) operator certification in Wastewater Collection.
- Experience in and thorough knowledge of Wastewater Collection System operation and system components including pipes, pumping stations and wastewater storage.
- Possess a thorough understanding of regulations enforced by the MECP, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other relevant environmental legislation related to Wastewater Collection.
- Demonstrated mechanical and computer aptitude is required in order to effectively monitor and control collection processes using automatic controls and the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System.
- Must be a cooperative team member who possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the Wastewater Pumping and Storm Water Stations.
- Support the operation of Wastewater Collection systems and associated Force mains to meet Provincial legislation and Regional standards.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance of lift station components, pump and equipment maintenance.
- Monitor the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to manage all wastewater collection systems and processes.
- Respond to inquiries, complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Compile information for reports to management and the MECP.
- Support other functions within the Public Works department as required.
- Record all work performed.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
