Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of experience in water or wastewater treatment operations, preferably in an industrial setting
- Working knowledge of treatment processes such as physical, chemical, and biological systems
- Ability to interpret operating procedures, technical manuals, and system documentation
- Valid driver’s license required
- Basic understanding of instrumentation, process control, and plant monitoring systems (e.g., SCADA or equivalent)
- Understanding of environmental regulations, safety procedures, and proper handling of chemicals
- Ability to follow safety protocols and use appropriate PPE in industrial environments
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills for coordination with team members and supervisors
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to remain calm during unexpected situations
Nice To Haves
- Technical training or certification in water/wastewater systems
- Wastewater Operator certification preferred (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)
Responsibilities
- Operating and maintaining treatment equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, motors, filtration or chemical feed systems)
- Performing routine sampling, testing, and data recording with accuracy
- Troubleshooting operational issues and implementing corrective actions
- Performing preventive maintenance and minor mechanical/electrical repair work
- Maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal standards
- Following safety protocols and using appropriate PPE in industrial environments
