Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–3 years of experience in water or wastewater treatment operations, preferably in an industrial setting
  • Working knowledge of treatment processes such as physical, chemical, and biological systems
  • Ability to interpret operating procedures, technical manuals, and system documentation
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Basic understanding of instrumentation, process control, and plant monitoring systems (e.g., SCADA or equivalent)
  • Understanding of environmental regulations, safety procedures, and proper handling of chemicals
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and use appropriate PPE in industrial environments
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills for coordination with team members and supervisors
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to remain calm during unexpected situations

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training or certification in water/wastewater systems
  • Wastewater Operator certification preferred (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)

Responsibilities

  • Operating and maintaining treatment equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, motors, filtration or chemical feed systems)
  • Performing routine sampling, testing, and data recording with accuracy
  • Troubleshooting operational issues and implementing corrective actions
  • Performing preventive maintenance and minor mechanical/electrical repair work
  • Maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal standards
  • Following safety protocols and using appropriate PPE in industrial environments
