About The Position

The Waste Class B Driver operates a 26-foot box truck throughout the Baton Rouge area, collecting sharps and medical waste containers from healthcare customer locations and delivering a high level of customer service. The role also includes warehouse work and ad hoc duties such as checking in containers, verifying paperwork, moving or unloading waste containers, and building orders. The position is a permanent, full-time role of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a stated schedule of 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Overnight hotel stays are required every Monday and Thursday night. The offered rate is a non-negotiable $24.00 per hour.

Requirements

Class B license, clean driving record, and valid DOT medical card.
At least 3 years of experience operating a 26-foot box truck.
Pass the 7-year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations.
Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, and roadside inspections.
A can-do attitude and strong customer focus.
Proven longevity in past employment.
Touch freight experience.

Responsibilities

Operate a 26-foot box truck safely.
Collect, deliver, and store medical waste containers at customer locations.
Provide strong customer service and build positive customer relationships.
Complete deliveries on schedule and clearly communicate changes.
Load, unload, and organize the truck according to schedule needs.
Comply with DOT regulations, log hours, and complete roadside inspections.
Push and pull a four-wheeled cart weighing up to 200 pounds.
Work in the warehouse, check in containers, verify paperwork, move or unload waste containers, and build orders.
