About The Position

The Warranty Operations Technician will perform various activities including testing returned units, conducting failure analysis, and testing components. The Warranty Operations Technician will also assist in providing technical assistance to various groups within the organization.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required
  • 2+ years of related work experience
  • Fundamental understanding of computer architecture and components (CPU, power supply, memory, graphics cards, flash memory, etc.)
  • Ability to diagnose the root cause of computer system failure and isolate the components/failure nodes.
  • Ability to use custom Linux and Windows-based diagnostic/test programs to run benchmarks/tests on electronic components' performance.
  • Understanding of hardware and software interactions; able to apply this understanding to resolve issues.
  • Ability to work and communicate with team members through verbal and written methods.
  • Experience with troubleshooting
  • Understand server components and assembly/disassemble.
  • Familiar with Linux commands
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently, as well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, as well change task easily.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in Electronics, Certificate of Completion of Technical School or equivalent experience in related discipline is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on server/network/storage hardware assembly, installation, testing and integrations.
  • Hardware troubleshooting and stress testing of systems and components
  • Build, debug, test, repair, and upgrade computer prototypes (computers, servers, peripherals, programs, and software/firmware)
  • BIOS and Flash ROM updates on servers and systems
  • Assisting in documentation creation
  • Server rebuilding and disassembling
  • Installation of new application software
  • Produce detailed test and failure analysis reports.
