About The Position

Performs receiving, inventory, and distribution duties in the operation and maintenance of central warehousing services for Tribal government. The Warehousing Specialist is a customer service position requiring working knowledge of warehouse logistics and inventory documentation and control. The Warehousing Specialist requires a demonstrated ability to organize and carry out a regularly scheduled material receiving, storage, and distribution services, and setup inventory control. Advancement potential exists to Warehousing Coordinator based on the need and ability to take on leadership over day-to-day receiving, shipping, and distribution operations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of progressively responsible experience performing a variety of warehouse-related duties including order storing, fulfillment, inventory control and analysis.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.
  • Forklift operators certificate or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Must maintain driver’s license, insurance eligibility, and certificate throughout employment.
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of centralized receiving and distribution warehouse operations, services, and activities.
  • Basic knowledge of materials, equipment, and supplies stored and used in operations of all Tribal entities.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse record keeping techniques including appropriate computer-aided programs for purchase orders and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of and skill at using warehouse equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, and other material handling devices.
  • Sufficient math skills to compute sums and fractions.
  • Sufficient language skills to document warehouse activity and prepare routine reports.
  • Sufficient human relation skills to maintain positive work relationships with internal customers and vendors, and to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform the functions of the position and schedule warehouse activity in a manner conducive to proficient performance.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and perform work as necessary to meet schedules and timelines.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle and labor-saving warehousing equipment.
  • Ability to organize, document, and count inventory.
  • Ability to maintain inventory levels and controls.
  • Ability to write and maintain records according to warehousing standards.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift certificate within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance (if applicable).
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug testing (if safety sensitive).
  • May be subject to pre-employment background clearances (if applicable).
