About The Position
Holt of California is a Caterpillar dealer that sells and services construction equipment, forklifts, and power-generation equipment. This part-time position is located in Pleasant Grove, California, and provides general warehouse services for the parts department. The role involves handling, storing, pulling, shipping, and receiving parts and materials, operating an industrial truck, and maintaining a clean warehouse and work area. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts; outdoor weather and wet or humid conditions may occur occasionally. The work environment is usually loud.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, up to six months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver license and clear DMV driving record.
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and number series.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s, including applying these operations to weight, volume, and distance measurements.
- Ability to understand and carry out simple one- or two-step instructions using common sense.
- Ability to handle standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Ability to regularly handle and feel objects, tools, and controls; frequently stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear; occasionally reach with hands and arms; frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Read orders or follow instructions to move materials or containers.
- Open containers.
- Pull parts orders, put stock away, and ship and receive parts.
- Load and unload materials by hand onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
- Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Attach identifying tags or labels to materials, or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Operate an industrial truck.
- Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together.
- Lift heavy objects by hand or with a power hoist.
- Keep the work area and warehouse clean.
- Assist others when asked or needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
