About The Position
This position is responsible for receiving, sorting, and storing donated items in the Donation Center. The role involves determining the acceptability of donated items based on established standards, operating a baler, and assisting in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
Requirements
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to physically lift and carry and /or push/pull light objects (less than 25 lbs.).
- Moderate mobility ability.
- Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
- Valid State Driver’s License
Responsibilities
- Receives, inspects and sorts donated items according to the category and condition.
- Selects items suitable for storage and distributes same to appropriate storage area in accordance with established procedures.
- Tags items with dates in accordance with established procedures.
- Packs items in boxes and marks boxes accordingly.
- Assists in transporting boxes to appropriate storage area.
- Prepares non-suitable items for discard.
- Operates baler.
- Assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
