About The Position

This position is responsible for various utility tasks within the warehouse, including material handling, waste management, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The role requires adherence to work schedules, company policies, and safety procedures. The individual will operate various equipment, including forklifts, bailors, trash compactors, and floor scrubbers, and will be responsible for completing necessary paperwork and inspections.

Requirements

Must be able to walk and stand for the duration of a shift.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to mount/dismount lift truck repeatedly throughout shift.
Must be able to work in a warehouse environment which may range in temperature.
Must cooperate with team lift as needed.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively.
Must be able to operate all PIT when needed.
Must be able operate the bailor, trash compactor, and floor scrubber.
Must be able to attach/detach the hopper properly from PIT.
Must be able to operate the Pedestal wrapper.
Responsible for maintaining safety equipment issued including but not limited to; safety glasses, gloves, vests, scissors and propane changing PPE.
Responsible for maintaining housekeeping supplies (Brooms, Dust pans, shovel...etc.).
Follow red cone procedure for dock safety.
Must complete E-Learnings as required.
Must follow trailer securement/release procedures.
Complete interior & exterior trailer inspections.
Must have trailer securement training. (Jackstand, Gladhand lock, and Power chocks).
Must adhere to hard surface pallet handling procedures.
Must adhere to all rack rules.
Must complete Lift Truck Operator training program.
Must complete all SAFE required training, quality training and/or other job-related training.
Must wear required PPE.
Must understand and follow traffic flow for safe operation.
Annual FTZ training.
Always maintain a safe and clean work area.
Report all accidents and unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately.
Must always wear Shaw issued work badge visible.
Must comply with all plant and department safety rules and regulations.
Must comply with all Shaw Savannah policies & procedures.
Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Adhere to normal work schedule and necessary overtime.
Comply with company attendance policy.
Complete daily lift inspections on PIT.
Transport pallets by forklift to and from locations.
Follow procedures for locating and removing pallets from rack locations.
Complete building supplies paperwork as required.
Verify and turn in pallet inventory paperwork to maintenance supply clerk.
Wrap loose product and pallets as needed.
Tape and/or remove any damaged products and packages.
Complete damage forms as needed.
Sweep and dispose of trash material from the floor.
Empty trash cans from the warehouse floor into the hopper.
Check trash cans at end of aisles throughout the plant.
Follow procedures for dumping the hopper.
Secure and release trailers from the dock doors.
Empty trash cans from outside employee parking lot and break areas.
Maintain water stations in breakrooms.
Unload pallets from flatbed trailer to be staged in designated areas.
Replenish wrap lines with empty pallets from designated staging areas.
Check and empty recycle centers in the break room.
Empty recyclables into the designated recycling dumpster.
Check and remove trash from around dock doors on the outside of the building.
Dispose of broken wood and destroyed pallets into the dumpster.
Collect wooden toppers throughout the warehouse and stage in rework area.
Report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Report any spills or leaks immediately.
Safely dispose sharp objects properly in dumpsters.
Check dumpster and trash compactor levels and advise Supervisor when needs to be emptied.
Run floor scrubber as needed and clean out after each use.
Remove empty pallets throughout the warehouse.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
