Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Business Administration or other related education; or equivalent of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of leading teams (preferred).
  • Ability to learn and apply global logistics industry processes and procedures.
  • Exhibit a leadership style that empowers, coaches, mentors, and fosters a cohesive team environment always prioritizing employee satisfaction.
  • Customer Satisfaction oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate at all levels (written and oral communication).
  • Ability to relate and influence employees at all levels.
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to complete work within standard procedures, guidelines, and office policies.
  • Self-driven personality and good business sense.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • English and Spanish fluency.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor key metrics to achieve expected results in People, Operation Efficiency, Quality, Administration and Personnel Management, Finance, Operations & Compliance, and Sales and Marketing.
  • Ensure all team members complete required training hours and mandatory training timely.
  • Assign duties, examine work, and ensure conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Employee Performance Evaluations annually and 1-1s quarterly.
  • Perform all operations in compliance with Expeditors Operational Process Standards.
  • Provide warehouse staff with necessary documents and information for receiving and shipping orders.
  • Support warehouse transportation and other miscellaneous activities/projects with proper documentation and research.
  • Lead the team to ensure compliance with internal policies and local regulations.
  • Understand and guide on all warehouse transportation systems involved in the operation.
  • Plan daily operations according to the forecast.
  • Maintain Yard pass accuracy to control equipment availability.
  • Maintain all warehouse transportation areas clean and organized.
  • Ensure 100% events are on time for Data Integrity.
  • Actively report inconsistencies to the Supervisor.
  • Participate in transitioning new customers as needed.
  • Manage, prevent, and resolve inventory, OSD, process, and customer exceptions.
  • Support with statistics and analysis of productivity and KPI performance.
  • Exemplify and teach company culture, mission, and goals.
  • Follow the 10 Critical Success Factors.
  • Escalate department needs to the supervisor, considering future growth.
  • Ensure the department is properly staffed, structured, and organized, and interview regularly.
  • Ensure all necessary needs and tools are available for the department's success.
  • Engage with team members daily, conduct check-in meetings regularly, and provide feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Participate in check-in meetings with supervisor/manager regularly.
  • Be visionary in managing staff, processes, and tools to handle volume spikes and local growth.
  • Build healthy cross-functional relationships and work environment, promoting team spirit and cohesiveness.
  • Ensure team members meet work schedules and overtime is managed appropriately.
  • Own self-development, prepare, follow-up, and execute personal development goals.
  • Develop department staff members, guide them, and support them through their personal goals.
  • Ensure company controls, policies, procedures, processes, applications, tools, and systems are understood and implemented.
  • Escalate problems or concerns to the Supervisor, Product, and/or Operations Manager.
  • Comply with all company policies, including the credit policy.
  • Have operational knowledge and understand the impact of unnecessary additional costs.
  • Notify operations agents of any activity that may result in additional charges.
  • Monitor service execution within the warehouse transportation department.
  • Ensure oversight of performance management, including self-assessments and daily, weekly, and monthly performance.
  • Understand department process flow and identify areas for improvement.
  • Actively participate with DBO in the optimization of systems and tools.
  • Ensure client-specific instructions are understood at the desk level.
  • Support the maintenance of SOPs for all customers.
  • Ensure proper use of all Expeditors systems and tools.
  • Monitor and ensure understanding/compliance with all Expeditors policies and regulations related to freight handling.
  • Make certain that files are logged correctly and timely with proper codes, trace types, and events.
  • Ensure all correspondence is handled timely and professionally.
  • Make sure the team is using approved service providers.
  • Ensure all Service Providers follow Expeditors rules and procedures.
  • Identify reasons for volume changes and inform supervisor and manager.
  • Showcase operational capabilities when a customer visits the facility.
  • Immediately report any unsafe condition or incident to the Branch Health and Safety representative.
