About The Position

This is an entry-level position in the warehouse, responsible for various tasks including verifying components, transporting materials, maintaining inventory, and assisting with basic assembly. The role requires adherence to safety and housekeeping procedures, and the ability to meet departmental hour requirements.

Requirements

• Education generally equivalent to a high school diploma.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to operate various hand tools and equipment.
• Must be able to operate a manual and powered pallet jack.
• Ability to pass forklift operator course and drive a forklift.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls.
• Occasionally required to walk; sit; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear; and use foot/feet to operate machine.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.

Responsibilities

• Verify components picked against the picking document.
• Transport raw materials and other items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas using a forklift or hand truck.
• Maintain warehouse; ensure neat and orderly storage of raw materials, finished goods, hardware, etc.
• Read pick tickets to determine materials needed for order preparation.
• Notify supervisor of low inventory supply.
• Periodically, take inventory of material, equipment, and supplies in storage as assigned.
• Assist with basic assembly of components and/or cutting, drilling, and routering of lumber, bases or supports as needed.
• Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.
• Satisfy the required hours of the department.
