LOGISTEED-America is seeking a Warehouse Team Lead to join their mission of delivering high-quality transportation and logistics services. This role involves monitoring workflow, focusing on inventory control and customer service, and contributing to the company's goal of making the world a better place for future generations. The company is a global leader in freight forwarding and contract logistics, founded in 1950, and part of a worldwide network offering various logistics services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year fast-paced Warehouse/Distribution/Logistics industry or Manufacturing environment experience.
  • 1 year lead or supervisor experience (work experience in lieu of previous supervisor experience considered).
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and regulations (OSHA).
  • Ability to make decisions in an objective manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational, people, and interviewing skills.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Staff management; requires flexibility and understanding that all staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goal of the warehouse (facility management i.e. maintenance, sanitations, etc.).
  • Ability to respond to situations in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Proven professional and sound judgment in the management of difficult and / or sensitive matters.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in multiple systems and ability to input and retrieve data are a must.
  • Must be available for night and weekend shifts.
  • Ability to input and retrieve computer/technical/scanner data are a must.
  • Must be able to read, write and count.
  • Working knowledge of 5S and Lean Concepts.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Must pass drug and criminal background check.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret pick/selection/put-away orders.
  • Ability to respond effectively to time sensitive work orders.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor workflow and provide focus on inventory control and customer service.
  • Assist supervisor in leading daily operations team to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by established target inventory discrepancy ratio.
  • Read and comprehend SOPs, work instructions, email, and documents; measure and count accurately; write legibly.
  • Follow established procedures and meet or exceed safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Perform tasks safely and ensure area housekeeping requirements are met.
  • Abide by all Federal, State, Local safety regulations and OSHA rules and LOGISTEED America, Inc. safety practices.
  • Meet attendance & punctuality standards.
  • Communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  • Compile, verify, record, and process forms and documents.
  • Use the WMS to plan, allocate, and manage daily orders in the system.
  • Safely load/unload trucks, trailers, and ocean containers both manually and using motorized power equipment.
  • Perform quality assurance inspection of returned parts.
  • Accurately receive and ship material through the WMS.
  • Perform system analysis on orders and inventory to eliminate missing shipments.
  • Set priorities and be able to multi-task with conflicting priorities.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Take direction and adhere to procedures and company policies, with the ability to articulate recommendations and ask questions when uncertain.
  • Monitor inbound, outbound, and inventory control operation progress and direct activities to complete daily tasks.
  • Assist in physical inventory counts and maintain accuracy by establishing target inventory discrepancy ratio.
  • Coordinate markdowns, markups, customer returns, and value-added services (VAS) of products as needed or requested by customer.
  • Be knowledgeable in all aspects of the operation and functions and have the ability to assist in compiling, verifying, recording, and processing forms and documents.
  • Multitask administrative and operational duties while staying organized and efficient to effectively support managers, supervisors, and team members.
  • Exhibit professional and sound judgment when confronted with difficult and/or sensitive matters and know when to escalate situations to a supervisor or manager.
  • Create a cooperative and harmonious working climate to maximize employee morale and productivity.
  • Train others in multiple areas of the operations such as scanning, orders, locations, temp, put-away, in-bound, receiving, sort-out load, ship-codes, read plan list and manifest (over or under).
  • Be proficient in the use of scanners and be able to train employees in put-away process and scanner transferring from one location to another as instructed by supervisor or operations manager.
  • Be promptly at the designated work site or location as required by supervisor or manager.
  • Be flexible in facilitating other duties on a daily basis as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
