About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations at a mine site, ensuring materials and supplies are received, stored, and distributed efficiently to support maintenance and production activities. This role ensures inventory accuracy, proper material handling, and compliance with company policies and MSHA regulations. The Warehouse Supervisor works closely with Maintenance, Purchasing, and Accounting to support operational uptime and cost control while promoting a strong safety culture. This position has direct supervisory responsibility for warehouse personnel and is responsible for scheduling, performance management, and daily oversight of warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience (mining or heavy industry preferred)
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license through the duration of employment
  • Must meet all insurability requirements as specified by Westmoreland’s policies or Driver’s insurance provider

Nice To Haves

  • Colorado Surface Mine Foreman Certificate, or ability to obtain it within 3 months preferred
  • Proficiency with inventory and maintenance management systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee receiving, storage, and distribution of materials
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels to support equipment availability
  • Coordinate with Maintenance on parts and inventory requirements
  • Monitor inventory for accuracy, usage, and obsolescence
  • Ensure proper tracking and accounting of issued materials
  • Determine and maintain effective storage systems
  • Support budgeting and approve stock requests and inventory changes
  • Supervise staff, including scheduling and timecard approvals
  • Promote safety through audits, inspections, and meetings
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and MSHA regulations
  • Support purchasing, receiving, and invoicing processes
  • Perform other duties as needed
