About The Position

The primary purpose of the warehouse supervisor is to provide leadership, support, and guidance for the warehouse staff. Daily tasks would include, but not be limited to, managing labor for the day, monitoring progress and metrics of the team, development of staff, and managing workload.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 Years of warehouse experience
  • 0-3 years of leadership experience
  • Forklift Certification required – must be able to maintain a current certification on a standup high-reach, sit down forklift and transporters
  • Able to multitask, organize, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to effectively communicate with employees throughout all levels of the organization
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and time-sensitive environment
  • Can easily adapt to shifting priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of compliance and safety
  • Fluent reading and writing skills
  • Ability to understand business metrics, and make decisions based on relevant data
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Quality conscious
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles or other large power equipment
  • Knowledge of vendor regulations
  • Knowledge of warehouse best practices
  • Leadership skills; can act as a mentor and coach to employees with the ability to motivate team members
  • Strong commitment enforcing excellence and high company standards
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • A strong work ethic and ability to perform labor intensive tasks
  • Ability to understand the organizations needs and goals, and align self with overall organizational strategy

  • Working knowledge of WHS (Hi Jump a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the labor for the day. Moving staff to areas of need as business needs change.
  • Ensure timely communication is made to pick up empty containers.
  • Work cross departmentally with other supervisors and managers to ensure processes flow smoothly.
  • Utilize metrics to manage the operation and keep costs down.
  • Identify gaps in processes to gain efficiencies and increase accuracy.
  • Support management with setting the expectations for the shift.
  • Develop leads and hourly associates to further their careers.
  • Audit the inbound containers and receipts to ensure staff is staying on process.
  • Ensure daily orders are being prioritized and completed by deadlines.
  • Monitor production to make sure staff has work throughout their entire shift.
  • Responsible for metrics within department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
