Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift certification or 2 or more years of sit-down forklift experience
  • Three years’ warehouse experience
  • Two years of supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the nightly operations of the warehouse shift, including following the basic production scheduling, work assignments, employee supervision, counseling, employee safety and administration of company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and document written performance evaluations, counsel employees as needed, and resolve employee issues, disciplinary actions, and performance recognition.
  • Supervise the mod pallet production process, ensuring all WOs are backflushed correctly and closed out weekly.
  • Review Forklift issues and write WOs for maintenance or contact vendors for repairs.
  • Monitor transfers and put trailers in the doors as needed.
  • Act as a backup for all warehouse positions, including Warehouse Manager, Traffic Clerk, Forklift Operator, Palletizer/Forklift Operator, and Warehouse Lead.
  • Ensure product rotation by setting expectations with forklift drivers to ship out the oldest product first, auditing shippers, and coaching employees.
  • Respond to customer service requests by reviewing daily appointments and staffing against them to reduce truck turnover time, ensuring product availability prior to appointments.

  • Organize the warehouse for optimal productivity and communicate opportunities to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings, eliminate potential safety hazards, follow up on safety issues, and coach employees on safe behavior.
  • Perform housekeeping audits annually and follow up on findings.
  • Develop training materials and train new employees.
  • Manage multiple employees, including Warehouse Leads and Forklift Operators.
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, and assess job results; coach and counsel employees; develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Establish strategic goals; identify and evaluate trends; choose a course of action; define objectives; evaluate outcomes.
