About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Warehouse Supervisor to join our business. The Warehouse Supervisor oversees the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely delivery of materials, product and services to the Triple-S Steel customers in their territory. This role ensures Workplace Health and Safety requirements are met and maintained according to Federal, State and Local laws, along with all company issued training. The Warehouse Supervisor is accountable and responsible for the security of the assets in the office and warehouse, and is responsible for the regular audit and inventory of materials. He/she is also responsible for the repair, maintenance and upkeep of the Physical Building and Grounds, utilizing the Vendors approved by the company. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for local Quality Assurance activities, logistics, procurement of Operating Supplies, and training of employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Three years experience in a distribution environment (preferably steel distribution)
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding established company objectives.
  • Strong supervisory skills including planning, organizing, controlling, leading, innovating as well as motivational and development skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely delivery of materials, product and services to customers.
  • Ensures Workplace Health and Safety requirements are met and maintained.
  • Accountable for the security of assets in the office and warehouse.
  • Responsible for regular audit and inventory of materials.
  • Responsible for the repair, maintenance and upkeep of the Physical Building and Grounds.
  • Responsible for local Quality Assurance activities, logistics, procurement of Operating Supplies, and training of employees.
  • Responsible for all distribution processes including Shipping, Put-away, Cycle Counting, Picking, Packing, Returns.
  • Has the authority and responsibility of warehouse employees, process handling and actions of employees.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding established objectives and key performance measures such as productivity, quality and on time shipments.
  • Provides leadership and development to all warehouse personnel.
  • Ensures warehouse personnel are assigned to the appropriate work areas to meet deadlines.
  • Directs production, shipping, cost, quality, and safety to meet goals.
  • Reviews schedules, determines work force requirements, and monitors productivity.
  • Makes decisions regarding work flow to ensure daily operational objectives are met.
  • Monitors operations, procedures and employees to ensure quality, service and productivity objectives are met.
  • Troubleshoots operational and maintenance problems and takes preventive and/or corrective action.
  • Ensures all established Triple S Steel policies are enforced and followed.
