The Warehouse Supervisor directly oversees daily shift operations, including selection, shipping, receiving, cross-docking, interleaving, and trailer loading operations. This role involves reviewing orders and shipping or receiving notices to determine work sequences, and conferring with customers, supervisors, contractors, and other personnel to exchange information and resolve problems. The supervisor is responsible for managing the daily activity of warehouse and dispatch Team Members, assigning work, and monitoring productivity to ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, housekeeping, product damage minimization, safety, and overall efficiency. They also plan assignments and monitor activities to ensure proper paperwork flow, product consolidation, and locating of missing product to enhance customer satisfaction. Additionally, the role involves planning assignments, coordinating, and monitoring operations to ensure on-time deliveries and reduce irregularities and damage. A key aspect is promoting safety through work processes and Team Member performance, educating Team Members, and ensuring a safe work environment by enforcing safety rules and regulations. Communication of policies, safety regulations, and SOPs to Team Members, with follow-up for compliance and corrective action, is essential. The supervisor conducts start-up shift meetings, ensures the facility is maintained cleanly and in an orderly fashion, and works to minimize product damage and maintain high Team Member morale and recognition. This position is responsible for the training, coaching, and feedback of warehouse and dispatch Team Members, including regular evaluations. They coach and counsel Team Members on job performance, task methods, and safety, and resolve Team Member relations issues. The supervisor investigates operational errors, recommends corrective actions, and, in conjunction with the Operations Manager, carries out disciplinary actions. They also create, manage, and support recognition and communication programs to foster teamwork. Collaboration with management personnel is required to establish and maintain inventory accuracy and quality control standards. Coordination of shift handoff activities is necessary for optimal distribution and utilization of resources. The supervisor reviews and ensures the accuracy of timesheet records and informs Warehouse Senior Management of operating issues and problems, making recommendations for corrective action. Reporting on work activities, operations, and accidents is also a responsibility. Finally, the role may involve driving vehicles or operating machines/equipment to complete assignments, requires reliable attendance, and adherence to safety and security standards.
