About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor I oversees warehouse receiving and shipments to branches and customers, prompt deliveries and vendor pickups, equipment maintenance, inventory accuracy, and coordination with Purchasing. The role also manages departmental staffing and performance, training, expenses and overtime, and compliance with company health and safety policies. This is an onsite position in Houston, Texas, scheduled Monday to Friday. It is safety sensitive and includes physical work such as lifting materials up to 75 pounds.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience required.
2–4 years in a leadership role.
Strong communication, organization, delegation, and PC skills required.

Nice To Haves

Distribution background preferred.
Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure material is received into the warehouse and shipped to branches and customers efficiently.
Ensure prompt deliveries and vendor pickups.
Ensure equipment is maintained and serviced.
Interface with Purchasing to keep inventory at appropriate levels.
Ensure damaged or off-quality merchandise is reported to Purchasing.
Coordinate cycle counts and identify products for monthly inventory.
Ensure inventory numbers are accurate.
Resolve transfer and receiving discrepancies.
Prepare departmental controls for overtime and expenses.
Interview and select qualified employees, oversee departmental training, conduct performance reviews, and recommend salary increases, transfers, and promotions.
Recommend, write, and deliver disciplinary measures in accordance with company guidelines.
Ensure health and safety compliance in accordance with company policy.
Perform other duties as required.
