About The Position

The Warehouse Specialist distributes building materials, primarily roofing and siding products, to residential and commercial builders and contractors. The role involves safely transporting and picking up products at designated warehouse locations, preparing orders for customer pickup or delivery, operating a forklift, and maintaining clean and organized warehouse areas. The position also requires direct customer service and effective communication with customers, dispatchers, managers, and coworkers.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to lift and carry building materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Nice To Haves

Valid driver's license.
Knowledge of building materials.
Forklift and/or Moffett experience.

Responsibilities

Safely operate company equipment to transport and pick up building materials at designated warehouse locations.
Communicate and work effectively with customers, dispatchers, management, and other employees.
Read work orders and invoices to determine product needs for customer pickup or delivery.
Frequently lift and carry building materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
Operate a forklift to load customer vehicles and delivery trucks, unload vendor trucks, and move stock.
Clean and organize warehouse areas, sweep warehouse floors and parking areas, and empty trash cans.
Provide personalized customer service in person and by phone.
Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor in person and through electronic communication.
Handle customer feedback and complaints efficiently to support customer satisfaction.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
