Warehouse Shipping Supervisor
About The Position
Scott Electric Company, a wholesale electrical distributor, is seeking a dependable, organized, hands-on Warehouse Shipping Supervisor for its Greensburg, Pennsylvania warehouse. The supervisor leads daily shipping operations and shipping personnel, ensuring customer orders are accurately checked, properly packaged, safely staged, and delivered on time. The role also supports counter and pickup customers and coordinates with other departments to keep shipments moving efficiently. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., plus overtime, with an 8-hour shift. Work is in person.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse shipping or distribution experience.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of order verification, packing, loading, and shipping documentation.
- Comfort using warehouse systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead a team, set clear expectations, and follow through on performance.
- Must meet company training and authorization requirements before operating equipment.
- Ability to perform warehouse duties, including standing, walking, bending, and handling materials, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- Forklift experience.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience in electrical wholesale distribution.
- Knowledge of Infor Cloud Suite Distribution.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily shipping operations, including order verification, packing, and staging.
- Ensure customer counter and pickup orders are filled promptly and customers are greeted and serviced immediately.
- Assign work, monitor progress, and adjust staffing priorities to meet shipping deadlines.
- Verify product numbers, quantities, shipping labels, and delivery information before orders leave the warehouse.
- Coordinate with order fulfillment, sales, dispatch, and drivers to resolve shortages, discrepancies, and urgent requests.
- Ensure delivery orders are staged by route.
- Train and coach employees on shipping procedures, safe material handling, and warehouse systems.
- Monitor shipping accuracy, productivity, and damage, and address recurring problems.
- Enforce safe forklift operation and company safety procedures.
- Maintain clean and organized shipping and staging areas.
- Assist with shipping and other warehouse duties as needed.
